Interesting little PR release I found where Homeland Security seems to think it is important to Prepare for Disaster. Read about it here. I wonder what sort of sinerio that Homeland Security is preparing for…? Here is the crux of the matter, and I quote from the PR release:

ATK… announced that it is being awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS, ICE) for .40 caliber ammunition. This contract features a base of 12 months, includes four option years, and will have a maximum volume of 450 million rounds.

What sort of emergency or disaster preparation do these federal agencys think is so important that they need to Prepare for Disaster by buying enough .40 hollow point bullets to have 1 and a half bullets ready for every many woman and child in the US? Do you think there is any reason that we should spend any more time getting ready for something too??? Time to check your plans to Prepare for Disaster and your ammunition stockpile too.
